(1) BE GIVEN CREDIT FOR ALL YEARS OF SERVICE RENDERED
FOR THE CALVERT COUNTY EMPLOYMENT SERVICE OFFICE FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ESTABLISHING (I) THE BASIC RATES FOR EARNING ANNUAL LEAVE; AND
(II) SENIORITY RIGHTS, PURSUANT TO § 35 OF ARTICLE 64A OF THE
ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND, ON THE SAME BASIS AS REGULAR
EMPLOYEES;
(2) UPON INCLUSION, PARTICIPATE IN THE STATE PENSION
SYSTEM TO THE SAME EXTENT AS REGULAR EMPLOYEES; AND
(3) RECEIVE NO DIMINUTION IN COMPENSATION SOLELY AS A
RESULT OF THIS TRANSFER.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning
State Employees - Retraining
FOR the purpose of requiring that certain employees of the State
of Maryland adversely affected by the closing of a facility,
or portion of a facility, which will alter or terminate
their employment, be provided job counseling and retraining
services by the State of Maryland; providing certain
employees with advance notice of the possible closing of the
facilities in which they are employed; providing requiring
that the Department of Personnel and the Department of
Employment and Training take certain actions to assist
certain displaced State employees secure comparable
positions either within State government or in community
service agencies; and generally relating to assisting
certain State employees secure alternative employment.
