AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance - Work Sharing Unemployment Insurance

FOR the purpose of establishing a Work Sharing Unemployment
Insurance program; defining certain terms; establishing
criteria for approval of an employer's work sharing plan by
the Secretary of Employment and Training; providing for an
employer's modification of a work sharing plan; providing
the Secretary with the authority to revoke a work sharing
plan for good cause; providing that an employer may not
institute a work sharing plan not provided for in an
existing collective bargaining agreement or agreed to by the
collective bargaining agent or if there is no specific
collective bargaining agreement then by an employee's
association or representative; defining monetary entitlement
to work sharing unemployment insurance benefits;
establishing criteria for work sharing benefits; making work
sharing benefits chargeable to the participating employers;
providing a certain date by which the Secretary must
consider plans; providing a certain sunset date; and
generally relating to the Work Sharing Unemployment
Insurance Program.
