Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (c) of Article 78B
§ 19, this additional revenue shall be paid to the counties where
the mile tracks are located at which these additional days are
run to assist the funding of services and facilities located
within 6 miles of the respective racetracks and occasioned by
their presence; but the total additional revenue distributed for
these additional days shall not exceed $120,000 per year. Of
this revenue, Baltimore City or the respective county shall each
be eligible to receive a maximum percentage of the additional
days run at a mile track in that subdivision; however, the actual
amount of payment shall be determined in accordance with
subsections (e) and (f) of Article 78B, § 19.
If days of racing are transferred as provided in this
section, Baltimore County shall receive a grant of $50,000 to
replace the revenues that were formerly received by the county
under Article 78B, § 19(d).
SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections 4 and 5
of this Act shall take effect July 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning
Racing - Commission and Employees
FOR the purpose of changing the size, composition, and terms of
the Maryland Racing Commission; abolishing the Thoroughbred
and Harness Racing Boards; changing requirements for
appointment of Commissioners; changing the staff and
employees of the Commission; specifying the powers and
duties of the Executive Director of the Commission;
specifying the manner of appointment and the status of
certain employees of the Commission; specifying the manner
of payment of the salaries of certain racing employees;
revising and correcting language; and making changes in the
racing law regarding the Commission and its employees.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
