Funds are appropriated in the
budgets of the boards,
commissions, divisions and
agencies of this Department to
pay for services provided by this
program. Authorization is hereby
granted to use such payments as
special funds for the operating
expenses of this program.

STATE INSURANCE DIVISION

34.02.01.01 General Administration

General Fund Appropriation,
provided that in the event House
Bill 457 or the companion Senate
Bill 319 are enacted dealing with
Competitive Rating, the Insurance

Commissioner shall provide

detailed reports on a current

continuing basis at least

semi-annually with the first
report due on or before December
1, 1984, to the Budget and

Economic Committees on the

progress of implementation of the
bill including at least the
following information:

a.   The nature of any hearings on
competition or rates, and a
summary of testimony and any

action taken by the

Commissioner.

b.   The levels of rates before and

after implementation of

competitive rating so that the
Committees can closely monitor

the actual effect of

competitive rating on the

insurance consumer, the

Department and its future
budget and staffing levels.
