Veterans of the United States armed forces who served
overseas are likely to acquire diseases that are associated with
the areas in which the veteran served; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

4-304.
THE DEPARTMENT SHALL:
(1) COMPILE INFORMATION FROM MEDICAL RECORDS OF THE
UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES CONCERNING A VETERAN'S IDENTITY, PLACE
OR PLACES OF SERVICE WHILE IN THE ARMED FORCES, AND PHYSICAL OR
MENTAL PROBLEMS AND THE CAUSES OF THE DETERIORATION OF THE
VETERAN'S PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH; AND
(2) INCLUDE THIS INFORMATION ON THE RECORDS OF ANY
HOSPITAL OR CLINICAL OR OTHER MEDICAL INSTITUTION WHERE THE
VETERAN IS RECEIVING MEDICAL TREATMENT OR THERAPY.
ON ADMISSION OF A PATIENT, A HOSPITAL, RELATED INSTITUTION,
OR MENTAL HEALTH OUTPATIENT CLINIC SHALL RECORD ON THE MEDICAL
RECORD WHETHER THE PATIENT IS A VETERAN OF THE UNITED STATES
ARMED FORCES AND WHERE AND WHEN THE PATIENT SERVED IN THE UNITED
STATES ARMED FORCES.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning
Juvenile Causes - Venue
FOR the purpose of requiring a petition in a juvenile cause to be
filed in the political subdivision where the child resides,
subject to certain exceptions, which alleges that a child is
in need of assistance or in need of supervision, to be filed
in the county where the child resides.
