AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance - Part-Time Employment

FOR the purpose of increasing the amount of wages which an
unemployed person may earn in part-time employment without
having such wages deducted from the person's weekly benefit
amount.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law

Section 3(b)(3)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law

(b) (3) Weekly Benefits for Partial Unemployment. Each
eligible individual who is unemployed in any week shall be paid
with respect to such week a benefit in an amount equal to his
weekly benefit amount plus allowance for dependents, less that
part of the wages (if any) payable to him with respect to such
week which is in excess of [$25] $45 $35; provided that such
amount of benefits, if not a multiple of $1.00, shall be rounded
down to the next lower whole dollar.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
