Annotated Code of Maryland

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - State Government
Section 8-202(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ____ (S.E. 50) of the

Acts of the General Assembly of 1984)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and
Administrative Departments

3D.

[All] UNLESS EXPRESSLY EXEMPTED FROM ASSIGNMENT BY LAW, ALL
interstate, regional, and other intergovernmental units in which
the State is a participant shall be assigned to the jurisdiction
of the appropriate secretary. Unless otherwise provided by law,
the secretary or his designee, subject to the Governor's
approval, shall represent the State in such units and shall
coordinate the State's participation in such units.

Article 78D - Regional Planning Council

3A.

THE REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL IS AN INDEPENDENT UNIT AND MAY
NOT BE PLACED BY THE GOVERNOR IN ANY PRINCIPAL DEPARTMENT.

Article 20 - Tri-County Council of Southern Maryland

THE COUNCIL IS AN INDEPENDENT UNIT AND MAY NOT BE PLACED BY
THE GOVERNOR IN ANY PRINCIPAL DEPARTMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
