SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

(Senate Bill 679)

AN ACT concerning

Cecil County - Alcoholic Beverages - Employment of Minors

FOR the purpose of prohibiting a person under a certain age in
Cecil County from being employed to sell, serve, deliver, or
otherwise deal with alcoholic beverages.

FOR the purpose of providing that in Cecil County, an alcoholic
beverages licensee may employ a person 18 years of age or
older to sell, serve, deliver, or otherwise deal with
alcoholic beverages; and providing for a delayed effective
date.

BY adding to

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

Section 117(e)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1981 Replacement Volume and 1983 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

117.

(E) IN CECIL COUNTY A PERSON UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE MAY NOT
BE EMPLOYED NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION IN THIS SECTION,
IN CECIL COUNTY A LICENSEE MAY EMPLOY A PERSON 18 YEARS OF AGE OR
OLDER TO SELL, SERVE, DELIVER, OR OTHERWISE DEAL WITH ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984 January 1, 1985.
