TYPE OF LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE BASED ON CHARGES PER CALL OR
MEASURED TIME PERIOD UNIT RATES.

(5) A TELEPHONE COMPANY MAY NOT REQUIRE THE PAYMENT
OF AN ORDER PROCESSING CHARGE OR LINE CHANGE CHARGE FOR A
RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER'S FIRST CHANGE FROM LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE
BASED ON CHARGES FOR MEASURED TIME PERIOD UNIT RATES, IF THE
CHANGE OCCURS WITHIN 12 18 MONTHS OF THE DATE THAT THE CONSUMER
ELECTS THIS TELEPHONE SERVICE BECOMES AVAILABLE IN THE CUSTOMER'S
TELEPHONE EXCHANGE.

(6) THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION MAY NOT AUTHORIZE
ANY TELEPHONE COMPANY TO CHARGE FOR THE DISTANCE OF A CALL WITHIN
ANY LOCAL CALLING AREA.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1984.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland State Police - Sick Leave Reserve

FOR the purpose of establishing a Sick Leave Reserve for the
Maryland State Police; providing for the administration of
the Sick Leave Reserve; permitting police employees to
donate a certain number of days of sick leave to the Sick
Leave Reserve under certain circumstances; permitting the
transfer of sick leave from the Sick Leave Reserve to
certain police employees under certain circumstances;
providing a limitation on the number of days of sick leave
that can be transferred; providing a limitation on when
certain sick leave can be transferred; and generally
relating to a Sick Leave Reserve for the Maryland State
Police.
