(Senate Bill 34)

AN ACT concerning

Human Organs - Selling or Buying Prohibited

FOR the purpose of providing that a person may not sell or buy
certain human organs, or act as a broker for a profit in the
transfer of certain human organs; providing an exception for
certain organizations; making stylistic changes; and
generally relating to a prohibition on the selling or buying
of certain human organs.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

5-101.

In this title, "body" means a dead human body.

5-401.

(a)   In this subtitle the following words have the meanings
indicated.

(b)   "Board" means the State Anatomy Board.

5-408.

(a) (1) A person may not sell or buy any body or any part
of a body that is under the exclusive control of the Board.
