code. It was vetoed by the governor. See 1937 Session Laws, pp.
1300, 1381.

(2)  Ch. 905, 1947, repealed secs. 757 and 757A of the 1930
Edition of the local code, the latter having been enacted by ch.
275 of 1935.

Ch. 536 of 1937 proposed amendments to sections 753, 754,

755,   756, 757, and 757A of the 1930 Edition of the local code.
It was vetoed by the Governor. See 1937 Session Laws, pp. 1300,
1381.

32-1. Bureau of Identification and Criminal Investigation.

(A)  (1) [It shall be the duty of the] THE State's Attorney
for Washington County [to] SHALL maintain a Bureau of
Identification and Criminal Investigation[, and he shall employ,
subject].

(2) SUBJECT to the approval of the County
Commissioners [of Washington County], THE STATE'S ATTORNEY SHALL
EMPLOY a competent person at a salary [to be] fixed by the County
Commissioners[,] to conduct the work of the Bureau[, the person
so appointed to]. THAT PERSON SHALL be capable of doing finger
print, photographic, criminal investigation, and detective work[,
and to]. UNDER THE DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION OF THE STATE'S
ATTORNEY, THE PERSON SHALL devote so much of his time as the
State's Attorney [may direct] DIRECTS to criminal identification
and criminal investigation work in Hagerstown and Washington
County[, under the direction and supervision of the State's
Attorney].

(B)  The County Commissioners [of Washington County] ALSO
shall [also] pay printing, stationery, telephone, stamps,
traveling expenses, and other expenses that [may be] ARE
necessary for the maintenance of [said] THE Bureau and shall
[levy for the same] BUDGET FOR THEM as expenses of the State's
Attorney's office.
