1724                                             LAWS OF MARYLAND                                         Ch. 289

The County Commissioners [of Washington County are hereby
authorized to] MAY advertise or publish [such of] the public
local laws THAT WERE enacted at each session of the General
Assembly relating to Washington County as [said Commissioners]
THEY think desirable, WITH the [said] advertisement to be in
[such] THE newspaper or newspapers as [said] THE Commissioners
[shall] determine. The [said] Commissioners may also advertise
or publish any reports or other matters which they may think

26-1. Order for fuel, etc.

The County Commissioners [shall] MAY not pass or order the
payment of any account for fuel, paper or stationery for the
register of wills for [said] THE county. (P.L.L., 1860, Art. 21,
sec. 228; 1888, Art. 22, sec. 330; 1930, sec. 697; 1957 Code,
sec. 510.)

26-2. Filing to be constructive notice.

When an assignment for an interest in any estate pending
distribution in the Orphans' Court of Washington County is filed
for record with the Register of Wills of [said] THE county,
before the statement of final accounts, [such] THE filing shall
be constructive notice to any administrator of [such] THE estate.

26-3. Indexes.

The Register of Wills [for Washington County, Maryland, is
hereby required to] SHALL transcribe as many of the indexes in
[the office of] the Register of [Wills] WILLS' OFFICE for [said]
THE county into a new book or books well-bound for that purpose,
as [may now be] ARE worn out or rendered inefficient from
continued use.[; and] THE REGISTER SHALL also remodel the entire
general index of wills and administrations and guardian
accounts[;] and [that he also] SHALL fill and supply any vacancy
which [may] now [exist] EXISTS in such general indexes. (P.L.L.,

26-4. Will books to be transcribed.

[Said] THE Register of Wills [for Washington County is
required to] SHALL transcribe wills, books Liber "B" and ["C,"]
"C", in [said] THE office in well-bound books suitable and proper
