(VI) KEEP an accurate account of all money
received by him and pay IT over [the same], as received, to the
collector of county taxes of Washington County[,]; and [shall
make]
(VII) MAKE a detailed monthly report thereof to
the County Commissioners[;].
(2) (I) [before entering upon] BEFORE BEGINNING the
duties of his office, [said] THE clerk shall execute a $10,000
bond to the State of Maryland, to be approved by a judge of the
Circuit Court for Washington County, [in the penalty of ten
thousand dollars] conditioned for the true and faithful
performance of the duties of his office.[, and that he] THE BOND
shall PROVIDE THAT HE SHALL well and faithfully account for and
pay to the proper person [to receive the same,] all [moneys]
MONEY, orders, or funds coming into his hands[;]. [and said]
(II) THE bond shall be liable for any default
by [him] THE CLERK or misappropriation of any of the county's
money or funds which [shall be] ARE entrusted to him, and shall
be recorded in the office of the clerk of the Circuit Court for
Washington County[;]. [and it]
(3) (I) THE CLERK shall [be his duty to] receive from
the collector of county taxes [for said county] all interest
coupons upon the bonded indebtedness of [said] THE county due and
paid by [said] THE collector[; also] AND all bonds due and
redeemed by [said] THE collector; and [he shall]
(II) THE CLERK at once SHALL cancel the [same]
COUPONS AND BONDS and report to the commissioners at their next
meeting the amount of coupons or bonds, or both, [so] received
and canceled[;].
(4) [the] THE bond of the [said] collector shall be
responsible for all money paid him by the [said] collector, WHO
shall pay out [said] THE money [so] received by him on orders or
warrants of the County Commissioners in THE manner provided by
Section 8-17. [of this Article; all]
(5) ALL necessary books and stationery required by
[said] THE county clerk shall be supplied by the County
Commissioners and shall remain the property of [said] THE County
Commissioners.
(b) Additional duties. Notwithstanding any other provision
of this Code [of Public Local Laws], the County Commissioners
[may,] by ordinance[,] MAY:
(1) [provide] PROVIDE additional duties for the
