that an extension may be authorized upon proper showing of need;
(2) [nor shall any person, upon] UPON conclusion of
[such] THE sale, continue that business which had been
represented as closing out or going out of business under the
same OR DIFFERENT name[, or under a different name], at the same
location, or elsewhere in Washington County where the inventory
for [such] THE sale was filed; OR
(3) [nor shall any person, upon] UPON conclusion of
[such] THE sale, continue business contrary to the designation of

7-6. Penalty provisions.
Any person who [shall advertise, hold, conduct, or carry]
ADVERTISES, HOLDS, CONDUCTS, OR CARRYS- on any sale of goods,
wares, or merchandise under the description of closing-out sale
or a sale of goods, wares, or merchandise damaged by fire, smoke,
water or otherwise, contrary to the provision of this subtitle,
or who [shall violate] VIOLATES any of the provisions of this
subtitle [shall be deemed] IS guilty of a misdemeanor and shall[,
upon conviction thereof,] be fined not more than $1,000 or
[imprisonment] IMPRISONED for not more than [ninety] 90 days, or
both. (1961, ch. 804, sec. 167F.)
7-7. Exceptions.
The provisions of this subtitle [shall] DO not apply to
public or court officers, or to any other person or persons
acting under the license, direction, or authority of any LOCAL OR
FEDERAL court[, local or Federal, selling] WHO SELL goods, wares,
or merchandise in the course of their official duties. (1961,
ch. 804, sec. 167G.)
7-8. Jurisdiction of Circuit Court.
Upon complaint of any person, the Circuit Court for
Washington County [shall have] HAS jurisdiction in equity to
restrain and enjoin any act forbidden or declared illegal by any
[provisions] PROVISION of this subtitle. (1961, ch. 804, sec.
167H.)
7-9. Regulations.
The County Commissioners [for Washington County are
authorized to promulgate] MAY ADOPT ordinances or regulations to
carry out the purposes of this subtitle, including[, without
limitation,] regulations limiting the period of time a
closing-out sale or a sale of goods, wares or merchandise damaged
by fire, smoke, water, or otherwise may be conducted, subject to
extension [as authorized by Section 7-5] PROVISIONS. [No such] A
regulation [shall] MAY NOT be put in effect until after a public
hearing has been held [thereon]. (1961, ch. 804, sec. 167-I.)
