SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 22 - Washington County

1. Auditor

1-1.   Auditor's appointment; tenure.

1-2.   Vacancy; how filled.

1-3.   Oath of office.

1-4.   Duties of auditor; reports.

1-5.   Time for audit and report.

1-6.   Auditor's powers; witnesses.

1-7.   Commissioners to levy for audits.

1-1. Auditor's appointment; tenure.

[The] ON JUNE 1 OF EACH YEAR, THE County Commissioners [of
Washington County] shall [on or before the first day of June,
1920, and annually thereafter on or before the first day of
June,] appoint a certified public accountant of good standing and
reputation who shall:

(1)   [be] BE designated as the auditor for Washington
County; and

(2)   [who shall hold] HOLD office for [one] 1   year
