4-301 through 4-316, and "Subtitle 3. St. Mary's County" and
7-101 and 7-201 through 7-203 and "Title 7. United States",
respectively, of Article 24 - Political Subdivisions
Miscellaneous Provisions of the Annotated Code of Maryland be
renumbered to be Section(s) 4-201 through 4-216, and "Subtitle 2.
St. Mary's County" and 6-101 and 6-201 through 6-203 and "Title
6. United States", respectively.
SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
Article 24 - Political Subdivisions - Miscellaneous
Provisions
Subtitle [2] 1. Charles County.
[4-201] 4-101.
In Charles County:
(1) the provisions of §§ 10-601 and 10-611 through
10-628 of the State Government Article apply to officials and
units of the State government; and
(2) Title [6] 5 of this article applies otherwise.
Title [6] 5. Charles County Freedom of Information Act.
[6-101] 5-101.
(a) This [subtitle] TITLE shall be cited as "The Charles
County Freedom of Information [Act."] ACT".
(b) (1) The following terms, whenever used or referred to
in this [subtitle] TITLE, shall have the following meanings
respectively, unless a different meaning clearly appears from the
context[:].
[(1)] (2) "Meeting or meetings" means the meetings,
when sitting as a body or entity, or as an informal assemblage of
the constituent membership, with or without minutes being taken,
whether or not votes are cast, of any authority, board, bureau,
commission, district or agency of Charles County or of any
political subdivision of Charles County, the governing bodies of
the county, school boards and planning commissions; and other
organizations, corporations or agencies in the county, supported
wholly or principally by Charles County public funds. Nothing in
this [subtitle] TITLE shall be construed as to define a meeting
as a chance meeting of two or more members of a public body, or
as an informal assemblage of the constituent membership at which
matters relating to the exercise of official functions are not
discussed.
