11-202. ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A STATE PERMIT COORDINATING COUNCIL.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as Art. 78A,
§ 57A(a).

It is set forth as a separate section for emphasis.

No other changes are made.

11-203. MEMBERSHIP.

(A)  COMPOSITION; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS.

(1)  THE COUNCIL CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING 16 MEMBERS:

(I)  12 MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR; AND

(II)  AS EX OFFICIO MEMBERS:

1.  'THE SECRETARY OF ECONOMIC AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT;

2.  THE COORDINATOR;

3.  THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MARYLAND
ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES, INC.; AND

4.  THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MARYLAND
MUNICIPAL LEAGUE, INC.

(2)  OF THE 12 APPOINTED MEMBERS, 1 SHALL BE FROM EACH
OF THE JUDICIAL DISTRICTS OF THE DISTRICT COURT OF MARYLAND.

(B)  QUALIFICATIONS.

THE GOVERNOR PREFERABLY SHALL APPOINT INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE
EXPERIENCE IN OR KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROCESS OF OBTAINING
DEVELOPMENT PERMITS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 78A, §
57A(c) and the second sentence and the first clause of
the first sentence of (b).

In the introductory clause of subsection (a)(1) of
this section, the number "16" is substituted for the
former reference "12", to encompass the 4 ex officio
