since the lease has been made and, under § 9-702(b)(2) of this
subtitle, the Council is the successor.

Former Art. 78A, § 14A, which enabled the Board of Public
Works to acquire Paca House and to designate the Maryland
Historical Trust to manage Paca House and which designated the
Council as successor to the Maryland Historical Trust, is
decodified since the acquisition has been made and, under §
9-709(b)(l) of this subtitle, the Council is the successor.

SUBTITLE 8. WAR MEMORIAL COMMISSION.

9-801. "COMMISSION" DEFINED.

IN THIS SUBTITLE, "COMMISSION" MEANS THE WAR MEMORIAL
COMMISSION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to avoid
repetition of the full title "War Memorial
Commission".

9-802. ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A WAR MEMORIAL COMMISSION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SERVICES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first clause of
the first sentence of former Art. 65, § 78, as that
clause related to the establishment of the Commission.

The . language "in the Department of General Services"
is added to reflect Art. 41, § 231B of the Code.

9-803. MEMBERSHIP.

(A)  COMPOSITION; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS.

(1)  THE COMMISSION CONSISTS OF 10 MEMBERS.

(2)  OF THE 10 COMMISSION MEMBERS:

(I)  5 SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY OF
GENERAL SERVICES, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR; AND

(II)  5 SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE MAYOR OF
BALTIMORE CITY.

(B)  QUALIFICATIONS.

EACH MEMBER MUST BE A MARYLAND WAR VETERAN.

(C)  TENURE; VACANCIES.

(1) THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS 5 YEARS.
