9-123. INELIGIBLE TO BUY STATE LOTTERY TICKETS AND SHARES.

A STATE LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE MAY NOT BE BOUGHT BY AND A
PRIZE MAY NOT BE GIVEN TO:

(1)  AN OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE OF THE AGENCY; OR

(2)  AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS A SPOUSE, CHILD, PARENT, OR
SIBLING OF AN OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE OF THE AGENCY AND RESIDES IN
THE PRINCIPAL RESIDENCE OF THE OFFICER OR EMPLOYEE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 88D, § 15.

In the introductory clause of this section, the term
"State lottery" is added to modify the words "ticket
or share", for clarity. See revisor's note to § 9-124
of this subtitle.

9-124. PROHIBITED ACTS; PENALTIES.

(A)   SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION DOES NOT PROHIBIT:

(1)  GIVING A STATE LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE AS A GIFT;
OR

(2)  BUYING A STATE LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE AS A GIFT
FOR A MINOR.

(B)  UNLAWFUL SALE OF TICKETS AND SHARES.
A PERSON OR GOVERNMENTAL UNIT MAY NOT:

(1)  UNLESS A LICENSED AGENT OR EMPLOYEE OF A LICENSED
AGENT, SELL A STATE LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE;

(2)  SELL A STATE LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE AT ANY PRICE
OTHER THAN THE PRICE THAT THE REGULATIONS OF THE AGENCY SET;

(3)  SELL A STATE LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE TO A MINOR;

(4) KNOWINGLY PRESENT A COUNTERFEIT OR ALTERED STATE
LOTTERY TICKET OR SHARE FOR PAYMENT; OR
