REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) through (d) and (e)(2) of
this section are new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 40, § 53B(b)
through (d) and, as it related to heading the
Division, (a) and the second clause of the second
sentence of § 53D.

Subsection (e)(1) of this section is standard language
added for clarity.

In subsection (a)(1) of this section, general

reference to the "duties, ... and functions

prescribed in this subheading" is deleted as
surplusage.

In subsection (a)(2) of this section, the word

"qualified" is added to reflect subsection (c) of this

section, since the nominees should meet the
qualifications.

In subsection (d)(l) of this section, the word "for"
is substituted for the former phrase "upon proof of",
since, under subsection (d)(2)(ii) of this section,
only an opportunity for a hearing is required.

In subsection (d)(2)(i) of this section, the word
"prepare" is substituted for the former word
"brought", as more accurate since the President and
the Speaker act themselves, rather than referring the
matter elsewhere.

2-1318. GENERAL AUTHORITY AND DUTIES OF REVISOR.

(A)   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY.

THE REVISOR SHALL ADMINISTER THE DIVISION.

(B)  EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CODE REVISION COMMISSION.

THE REVISOR IS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COMMISSION TO
REVISE THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND.

(C)  GENERAL DUTIES; AUTHORITY OF REVISOR.

SUBJECT TO THE GENERAL SUPERVISION AND CONTROL OF THE
DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT, THE REVISOR SHALL:

(1) MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE RECLASSIFICATION,
REARRANGEMENT, RENUMBERING, REWORDING, AND OTHER FORMAL REVISION
OF THE PUBLIC GENERAL LAWS IN THE CODE;
