(A)  ADVISORY OPINIONS.

THE COMMITTEE HAS THE FUNCTION TO ISSUE, ON REQUEST OF A
MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AN ADVISORY OPINION ON THE
LEGISLATIVE ETHICS THAT RELATE TO AN ACTION TAKEN OR CONTEMPLATED
BY ANY MEMBER.

(B)  REFERRALS AUTHORIZED.

THE PRESIDENT AND THE SPEAKER MAY REFER TO THE COMMITTEE ANY
MATTER THAT THEY CONSIDER APPROPRIATE.

(C)  RECORDS.

THE COMMITTEE SHALL KEEP PUBLIC RECORDS, AS THE RULES OF
LEGISLATIVE ETHICS REQUIRE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 40, §
90(3) and (4) and the fourth sentence of (1).

In subsection (c) of this section, the phrase "of
legislative ethics" is added to modify the word
"rules", for clarity.

SUBTITLE 8. JOINT COMMITTEE ON THE MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS.

2-801. "COMMITTEE" DEFINED.

IN THIS SUBTITLE, "COMMITTEE" MEANS THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON
THE MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to avoid
repetition of the full name "Joint Committee on the
Management of Public Funds".

2-802. ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A JOINT COMMITTEE ON THE MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC
FUNDS, WHICH IS A JOINT COMMITTEE OF THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: The first clause of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from the
first sentence of former Art. 40, § 92.

The second clause of this section, "which is a joint
committee of the Senate and the House", is new
language added to conform to other provisions that
create similar joint committees. See, e.g., §§ 2-502,
2-602, and 2-702 of this title.
