AN ACT concerning

Transportation - Port Land Use Development Zone Advisory Council -
Abolishment
FOR the purpose of abolishing the Port Land Use Development Zone Advisory
Council; abolishing the Port Land Use Development Office in the Maryland Port
Administration of the Department of Transportation; repealing certain
provisions relating to the Advisory Council's functions, duties, and
responsibilities; and generally relating to the Port Land Use Development Zone
Advisory Council and the Port Land Use Development Office.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Transportation
[Subtitle 5. Port Land Use Development.]
[6-501.
(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.
(b) "Advisory Council" means the Port Land Use Development Zone Advisory
Council.
(c) "Brownfields sites" means:
(1) Eligible property as defined in § 7-501(g) of the Environment Article;
and
(2) Property where there is a release, discharge, or threatened release of
oil, as defined in § 4-401 of the Environment Article.
(d) "Land assemblage" means the compilation of vacant or underutilized
property within the Port Land Use Development Zone to create more viable property
for specific redevelopment projects.
(e) "Zone" means the Port Land Use Development Zone which consists of
residentially, commercially, or industrially zoned property within the immediate
influence of Port activity. This includes land directly on the Baltimore Harbor or
