(7) Receive all books, documents, public letters, and packages sent to
him pursuant to law, and carefully dispose of them as the law requires;
(8) Administer an oath;
(9) Replace worn books and records with new ones; [and ]
(10) IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATOR,
ESTABLISH UNIFORM PROCEDURES FOR REPORTING BOTH TRAFFIC CASES AND
CRIMINAL CASES INVOLVING A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THE CIRCUIT COURT TO THE
MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATION; AND
[(10)] (11) Perform any other duty required by law or rule.
(b) Unless otherwise provided by law, a clerk is not required to record any
paper filed with him or to provide any person with a copy of a paper until the
applicable charge has been paid.
Article - Public Safety
2-701.
(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.
(b) "Commercial motor vehicle" has the meaning stated in [§ 11-109.1] §
16-803 of the Transportation Article.
(c) "Council" means the Vehicle Theft Prevention Council.
(d) "Fund" means the Vehicle Theft Prevention Fund.
Article - Transportation
[11-109.1.
(a) "Commercial motor vehicle" and "CMV" means a motor vehicle or
combination of motor vehicles used to transport passengers or property, if the motor
vehicle:
(1) Has a gross combination weight of 26,001 or more pounds inclusive of
a towed unit;
(2) Has a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 or more pounds;
(3) Is designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver;
or
(4) Is of any size and is used in the transportation of materials found to
be hazardous for the purposes of the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act and
which requires the motor vehicle to be placarded under hazardous materials
regulations (49 CFR Part 172, Subpart F).
(b) "Commercial motor vehicle" and "CMV" does not include a vehicle that is:
(1) (i) Controlled and operated by a farmer;
