any card or account fees must be disclosed to the employee.
House Bill 751, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 712.

AN ACT concerning
Labor and Employment - Payment of Wages - Credit to Debit Card or Card
Account
FOR the purpose of authorizing an employer to pay a wage to an employee by credit
of the wage to a certain debit card or card account under certain circumstances;
and generally relating to the payment of wages.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Labor and Employment
3-502.
(a) (1) Each employer:
(i) shall set regular pay periods; and
(ii) except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, shall pay
each employee at least once in every 2 weeks or twice in each month.
(2) An employer may pay an administrative, executive, or professional
employee less frequently than required under paragraph (l)(ii) of this subsection.
(b) If the regular payday of an employee is a nonworkday, an employer shall
pay the employee on the preceding workday.
(c) Each employer shall pay a wage:
(1) in United States currency; or
