Dorchester General Hospital project by redesignating the name of the grantee of the
bond proceeds under the project as the Shore Health System, Inc. House Bill 153, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 522. Very truly yours,

Governor Senate Bill No. 522 AN ACT concerning Maryland Consolidated Capital Bond Loan of 2002 - Dorchester County -
Dorchester General Hospital Loan of 2002 FOR the purpose of amending Chapter 290 of the Acts of 2002 to make a technical
correction to the Dorchester General Hospital project; making this Act an
emergency measure; and generally relating to the financing of certain capital
projects. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Chapter 290 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2002
Section 1(3) Item ZC01(D) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Chapter 290 of the Acts of 2002 Section 1(3) ZC01                         MARYLAND HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION (D) [Dorchester General Hospital] SHORE HEALTH SYSTEM, INC. Provide a grant
equal to the lesser of (i) $500,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund
provided, to the Board of Directors of [Dorchester General Hospital] SHORE
HEALTH SYSTEM, INC. for the planning, design, renovation, repair, construction,
and capital equipping of the critical care unit and chest pain program to be
located at 300 Byrn Street in Cambridge (Dorchester County).................500,000 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an emergency
measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health or safety,
has been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from
the date it is enacted.
