(a) In the implementation of the consolidation of the Natural Resources Police
and the State Forest and Park Rangers, the position identification numbers under the
State personnel system shall be transferred as follows:
(1) Park Ranger II shall be transferred to the position identification
number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources Police Officer
First Class;
(2) Park Service Specialist shall be transferred to the position
identification number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources
Police Corporal;
(3) Park Ranger Supervisor and Park Service Supervisor shall be
transferred to the position identification number associated with the classification
title of Natural Resources Police Sergeant;
(4) Park Ranger Manager I shall be transferred to the position
identification number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources
Police 1st Sergeant;
(5) Park Ranger Manager II shall be transferred to the position
identification number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources
Police Lieutenant, and Park Ranger Manager III shall be transferred to the position
identification number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources
Police Captain;
(6) Park Regional Administrator shall be transferred to the position
identification number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources
Police Major; and
(7) Park Administrator shall be transferred to the position identification
number associated with the classification title of Natural Resources Police Lieutenant
Colonel.
(b) A sworn law enforcement employee of the State Forest and Park Service on
March 24, 2004, shall be transferred within each position identification number as
stated in paragraph (a) of this section.
(c) The Natural Resources Police classification series and salary schedule
shall be utilized for promotions of law enforcement employees within the Maryland
Park Service. Those law enforcement employees of the Maryland Park Service shall
be eligible and considered for any promotional opportunities in the Maryland Park
Service management and if selected for those positions, shall assume the Natural
Resources Police classification of the law enforcement officer who most recently held
that position.
(a) This section applies to the implementation of the consolidation of the
Natural Resources Police and the State Forest and Park Service Rangers in the
Department of Natural Resources Forest and Park Service or any successor
organization Department of Natural Resources.
