S.B. 383 VETOES
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2005, and shall be applicable to all taxable years beginning after June 30,
2005.
May 26, 2005 The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401 Dear Mr. President: In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 383 - Consolidation of State Forest and Park Rangers and Natural
Resources Police.
This emergency bill confirms the status of specified employees as police officers and
preserving those officers' law enforcement commissions. House Bill 1353, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 383. Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor Senate Bill No. 383 AN ACT concerning Consolidation of State Forest and Park Rangers and Natural Resources Police —Classification Title FOR the purpose of establishing certain classification titles in the transfer of position
identification numbers for certain sworn law enforcement employees in the
implementation of the consolidation of the State Forest and Park Rangers and
Natural Resources Police; making this Act an emergency measure; and

generally relating to the classification title and position identification numbers
in the consolidation of the State Forest and Park Rangers and the Natural
Resources Police.
FOR the purpose of confirming the status of certain employees as police officers and
preserving those officers' law enforcement commissions; making this Act an
emergency measure; and generally relating to the status and commissions of
certain police officers. SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That: - 3602 -
