Officers' Pension System may only earn a certain amount of service credit for a
certain period of time; distributing providing, under certain circumstances, for
the distribution of the accumulated contributions of a deceased member of the
Law Enforcement Officers' Pension System if the death occurs under certain
circumstances; requiring that an eligible governmental unit electing to
participate in the Employees' Pension System or the Law Enforcement Officers'
Pension System begins participating on a certain date; altering the types of
service credit that certain members of certain systems included in the State
Retirement and Pension System may purchase; altering the methods that
certain members of certain systems included in the State Retirement and
Pension System may use to purchase certain service credit; providing, that
certain deputy clerks of the court may receive a service retirement allowance after
serving a certain number of years; making certain technical and conforming
changes; providing for the application of certain provisions of this Act; providing
for a delayed effective date of certain provisions of this Act; and generally
relating to simplifying the administration of the State Retirement and Pension
System.
