(ii) if it intends to claim the enhanced property tax credit, how it
expects to meet the requirements to qualify for the enhanced property tax credit; and (iii) when it expects to obtain the new or expanded premises and
hire the required number of employees in the new permanent full-time positions. (7) If a business entity meets the requirements for a tax credit under this
section, the county or municipal corporation shall certify to the Department and the
Department of Business and Economic Development that the business entity has met
the requirements for the tax credit for the taxable year that follows the date on which
it met the requirements. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2006, and shall be applicable to all taxable years beginning after December 31,
2006. Approved April 25, 2006.

(House Bill 769)
AN ACT concerning
Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation - Easements - Program Requirements FOR the purpose of altering the maximum amount of funds available from the
Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation for matching certain
purchases of easements; altering the period of time that land is required to
remain within an agricultural district; requiring the county governing body to
establish, by ordinance, the time period required for an agricultural district
within its jurisdiction, but requiring the period to be within a certain number of
years; repealing altering certain restrictions for the reapplication process for an
easement; authorizing the Department of General Services to determine the fair
market value of a certain type of land under certain circumstances; providing for
the application of certain provisions;
encouraging counties to provide property
tax credits for agricultural districts; requiring the Foundation, on or before a
certain date, to report to the General Assembly on certain matters concerning
the elimination of agricultural districts from the Maryland Agricultural Land
Preservation Program; and generally relating to agricultural land preservation
easements. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Agriculture Section 2-508(b), 2-509(b), 2-510(1), and 2-511
Annotated Code of Maryland
