BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 10 - Legal Officials
40.
(t) In Somerset County,
(1) The State's Attorney's salary is [$91,100] $98,000.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III, §
35 of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to
the salary or compensation of the State's Attorney for Somerset County in office on
the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the State's Attorney for Somerset County shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2006.

AN ACT concerning
Somerset County - Orphans' Court Judges - Salary
FOR the purpose of increasing the salaries of the Chief Judge and associate judges of
the Orphans' Court for Somerset County; providing that this Act does not apply
to the salary or compensation of the incumbent Chief Judge or associate judges
of the Orphans' Court for Somerset County; and generally relating to Orphans'
Court judges in Somerset County.
