(2) THE USUAL AND CUSTOMARY FEE CHARGED TO POLICY OWNERS,
CERTIFICATE HOLDERS, OR INSUREDS FOR SIMILAR SERVICES
$50. (C)     (1) AN INSURER MAY SEND AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RECEIPT OF A
REQUEST FOR VERIFICATION OF COVERAGE TO THE VIATOR AND, IF THE VIATOR IS
OTHER THAN THE INSURED, TO THE INSURED. (2) THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT MAY CONTAIN A GENERAL DESCRIPTION
OF ANY ACCELERATED DEATH BENEFIT THAT IS AVAILABLE UNDER THE POLICY. (D)     THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ADOPT BY REGULATION A "VERIFICATION OF
COVERAGE FOR LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES" FORM THAT IS SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR
TO THE FORM IN APPENDIX B OF THE VIATICAL SETTLEMENT
S MODEL REGULATION
ADOPTED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INSURANCE COMMISSIONERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the initial "Verification of Coverage for Life Insurance Policies" form required under § 8-610.1 of the Insurance
Article, as enacted by Section 1 of this Act, shall be the form that appears in Appendix
B of the Viatical Settlements Model Regulation adopted by the National Association of
Insurance Commissioners. SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That nothing in this Act shall
affect the jurisdiction of the Securities Commissioner of the Office of the Attorney
General. SECTION 2. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 2006. Approved April 25, 2006.

(Senate Bill 965) AN ACT concerning Waters Department of Natural Resources - Vessels - Penalties for Operating
Recklessly
- Reckless Operation - Subsequent Offenders or Negligently FOR the purpose of prohibiting a person from negligently operating a vessel on
waters of the State; prohibiting a person from negligently coming into a wharf or
bathing shore;
altering the penalties for certain violations while operating a
vessel; establishing certain penalties for a conviction for operating a vessel in a
certain manner; operating a vessel recklessly or in a certain manner in a certain
location; altering the penalties for coming into a wharf or bathing shore
recklessly or in a certain manner; making stylistic changes; and generally
relating to operating a vessel in waters of the State
establishing a certain
penalty for a certain subsequent offense relating to operation of a vessel; and
generally relating to certain offenses relating to operation of vessels.
