AN ACT concerning
Community Based Regional Initiatives Loan of 2004 - Baltimore City - I
Can't We Can
FOR the purpose of amending the Community Based Regional Initiatives Loan of
2004 to extend the date by which the Board of Directors of I Can't We Can, Inc.
must present evidence that a matching fund will be provided and to provide that
the matching fund may consist of real property.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Chapter 204 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2003
Section 12(3) Item (AC)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Chapter 204 of the Acts of 2003
SECTION 12. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That:
(3) (AC) I Can't We Can. Provide a grant equal to the lesser of (i)
$500,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund provided, to
the Board of Directors of I Can't We Can, Inc. for the
acquisition, planning, design, construction, and capital
equipping of a community and addiction recovery center,
located in Baltimore. NOT WITHSTANDING SECTION 12(5) OF
THIS ACT, THE GRANTEE HAS UNTIL JUNE 1, 2007, TO
PRESENT EVIDENCE SATISFACTORY TO THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC WORKS THAT A MATCHING FUND WILL BE
PROVIDED, AND THE MATCHING FUND MAY CONSIST OF REAL
PROPERTY. (Baltimore City).......................................................... 500,000
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2006.
