The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 768 — Dorchester County - Orphans' Court - Compensation of
Judges.
This bill alters the compensation for the judges of the Orphans' Court for Dorchester
County by an amount to be determined by the County Council of Dorchester County,
but not less than $4,700; alters the expense allowances for the judges of the Orphans'
Court for Dorchester County; and provides that the Act does not apply to the salary or
compensation of the incumbent judges of the Orphans' Court for Dorchester County.
House Bill 680, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 768.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 768
AN ACT concerning
Dorchester County - Orphans' Court - Compensation of Judges
FOR the purpose of increasing the compensation for the judges of the Orphans' Court
for Dorchester County to be an amount determined by the County Council of
- 3233 -
