The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 764 - Enterprise Zones - Property Tax Credits After Expiration of
Designation of Enterprise Zone.
This bill allows a business entity operating in an enterprise zone when the enterprise
zone's designation expires to claim property tax credits for qualified real property
within 5 years after the expiration of the designation.
House Bill 941, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 764.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 764

for certain real property owned, operated, developed, constructed, or
rehabilitated by the business entity within a certain period; and generally
relating to allowing certain business entities operating in an enterprise zone
when the designation of the enterprise zone expires to claim certain property tax
