House Bill 1205, which was passed by the General Assembly and allowed to go into
effect without my signature, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not
necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 464.

AN ACT concerning
Legislative Community Initiatives Loan of 2004 - Montgomery County -
Kensington Recreation Center
FOR the purpose of amending the Legislative Community Initiatives Loan of 2004 to
extend the date by which the County Executive and County Council of
Montgomery County must present evidence that a matching fund will be
provided.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Chapter 204 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2003, as amended by
Chapter 432 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2004
Section 13(3)(i) Item (AM)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Chapter 204 of the Acts of 2003, as amended by Chapter 432 of the Acts of
2004
SECTION 13. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That:
(3) (i) $15,200,000 for the following projects initially approved by the
Senate:
(AM) Kensington Recreation Center. Provide a grant equal to the
lesser of (i) $100,000 or (ii) the amount of the matching fund
provided, to the County Executive and County Council of
Montgomery County for the acquisition, planning, and design
of the Kensington Recreation Center, located in Kensington.
Notwithstanding Section 13(5) of this Act, the matching fund
may consist of real property AND THE GRANTEE MUST
PRESENT EVIDENCE THAT A MATCHING FUND WILL BE
PROVIDED BY JUNE 1, 2008 (Montgomery County).................. 100,000
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2006.
