AN ACT concerning
Prince George's County - Orphans' Court - Compensation of Judges
PG 303-06
FOR the purpose of providing for an increase in the compensation for judges of the
Orphans' Court of Prince George's County; providing that this Act does not apply
to the salary or compensation of the incumbent judges of the Orphans' Court of
Prince George's County; and generally relating to the Orphans' Court of Prince
George's County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 2-108(q)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Estates and Trusts
2-108.
(q) The salary of each associate judge of the Court for Prince George's County
shall be [$36,500] $42,000 per annum, and the salary of the Chief Judge shall be
[$37,000] $42,500 per annum.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
§ 35 of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to
the salary or compensation of the Chief Judge or any associate judge of the Orphans'
Court of Prince George's County in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation of the Chief Judge or any
associate judge of the Orphans' Court of Prince George's County shall take effect at
the beginning of the next following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2006.
