Ch. 485                                        2006 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(2) The Commission shall issue the onetime grant from any balance
carried over to the Fund as of July 1, 2006, from prior fiscal years.
(c) (1) The Maryland Health Care Commission, in consultation with the
Health Services Cost Review Commission and the Maryland Institute for Emergency
Medical Services Systems, shall develop a process for the award of grants to Level II
and III trauma centers in the State to be used for equipment primarily used in the
delivery of trauma care.
(2) (i) Grants awarded under this subsection shall be issued from any
balance carried over to the Fund as of July 1, 2006, from prior fiscal years.
(ii) The total amount of grants awarded under this subsection may
not exceed $3,000,000.
(3)      The process developed by the Maryland Health Care Commission
shall, include:
(i) Grant applications and review and selection criteria for the
award of grants:
(ii) Review by the Health Services Cost Review Commission, if
necessary, for any project that exceeds Certificate of Need thresholds: and
(iii) Any other procedure determined necessary by the Maryland
Health Care Commission.
(4)      Before awarding grants under this subsection, the Maryland Health
Care Commission shall report to the Senate Finance Committee and the House Health
and Government Operations Committee, in accordance with § 2-1246 of the State
Government Article, on the process that the Commission has developed for awarding
grants.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October July 1, 2006. Approved May 16, 2006.

authority for final disposition of a body by cremation; authorizing the Police
Training Commission, with the cooperation of the Office of the Chief Medical
Examiner and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to develop a uniform
