Ch. 401 2006 LAWS OF MARYLAND
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED. That it is the, intent of the.
General Assembly that the Governor work with the National Governors Association to:
(1) relay the concerns of the State to the federal government regarding the
amount of federal money available for outreach and assistance on Medicare Part D:
and
(2) advocate for additional federal funding and reimbursement for state
outreach and education on Medicare Part D. including for federal reimbursement of
the funding provided for State outreach and assistance under this Act.
SECTION 3. 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an
emergency measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health
or safety, has been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take
effect from the date it is enacted. It shall remain effective until the end of September
30, 2006 June 30, 2007, and, with no further action required by the General Assembly,
this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.

(House Bill 1503)
AN ACT concerning
Baltimore City - Sheriff's Office - Appointed Positions
FOR the purpose of altering the maximum number of certain positions to be
appointed by the Baltimore City Sheriff is authorized to appoint: and generally
relating to the Baltimore City Sheriff's office.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

2-309.
(d) (1) (i) In Baltimore City, the Sheriff shall receive an expense
allowance of $750 two times per year and a salary of:
1. $79,300 in calendar year 2007;
