(i) (1) The Treasurer shall invest the money in the Fund in the same
manner as other State money may be invested.
(2) Any investment earnings of the Fund shall be retained to the credit of
the Fund.
(j) The Fund shall be subject to an audit by the Office of Legislative Audits as
provided for in § 2-1220 of the State Government Article.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2006.

(House Bill 1127)
AN ACT concerning
Statewide Commission on the Shortage in the Health Care Workforce
FOR the purpose of establishing the Statewide Commission on the Shortage in the
Health Care Workforce; providing for the membership of the Commission;
authorizing the Commission to consult with certain individuals and entities in
performing the duties of the Commission; requiring the Secretary of Health and
Mental Hygiene to chair the Commission, make certain appointments to the
Commission, and establish certain subcommittees; providing for the duties of
the Commission; requiring the Commission to make certain recommendations;
requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to provide staff
support to the Commission; requiring the Commission to make a certain annual
report to the Governor and General Assembly on a certain date; providing that
members of the Commission are entitled to a certain reimbursement; providing
for the termination of this Act; and generally relating to the Statewide
Commission on the Shortage in the Health Care Workforce.
BY adding to

Section 1-601 to be under the new subtitle "Subtitle 6. Statewide Commission
on the Shortage in the Health Care Workforce"
