Ch. 289 2006 LAWS OF MARYLAND
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:
(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of § 14-504 of the Insurance Article, in
fiscal year 2007 only, the Board of Directors of the Maryland Health Insurance Plan
may appropriato $6,000,000 by approved budget amendment from the Maryland
Health Insurance Plan Fund to the County Executive and County Council of Prince
George's County to be used for the operation of Prince George's Hospital Center.
(b) This Act shall be contingent on:
(1) the County Executive and County Council of Prince George's County
providing $20,000,000 to the Prince George's Hospital Center to be used for the
operation of the Prince George's Hospital Center; and
(2) certification to the Board of Public Works by the County Executive
and County Council of Prince George's County that the $20,000,000 provided under
paragraph (1) of this subsection has been expended., notwithstanding the provisions
of § 7-311 of the State Finance and Procurement Article or any other provision of law,
for fiscal year 2007 only, up to $5,000,000 may be transferred from the Revenue
Stabilization Account established under § 7-311 of the State Finance and
Procurement Article by budget amendment to the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene for the purpose of providing a special fund operating grant appropriation to
Prince George's Hospital Center.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2006.

(House Bill 2)
AN ACT concerning
Agricultural Stewardship Act of 2006
FOR the purpose of clarifying that certain funds received by the Maryland
Agricultural and Resource Based Industry Development Corporation may be
used for rural business development and assistance; authorizing requiring the
Governor to appropriate certain funds to the Maryland Agricultural and
Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation for rural business
development and assistance; authorizing the Governor to appropriate certain
funds to the Corporation for certain easement and land acquisition programs;
requiring authorizing counties to include a priority preservation area element in
each county's comprehensive plan; authorizing the Maryland Agricultural Land
Preservation Foundation to provide grants to the Maryland Agricultural and
Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation under certain
circumstances; requiring a priority preservation area to meet certain criteria;
