       Ralph Elston

               Comand was given to the sheriffe of Talbott County  That Whereas Francis
               Anktill late of Calvert County gent deceased about two and twenty
               yeares since had surveyed for him by M.r William Coursey then Deputy
       Surveyo.r und.r Robert Clarke Esq a parcell of Land in Talbott County for
       Five hundred acres called Anktill and had a pattent granted him under
       the great seale of this Province for the same  But in the Certificate of
       Survey that is Entered upon Record on wch the said Pattent is grounded
       (the Originall Certificate und.r the said Courseys hand not being to be found)
       There appeared to be seaverall mistakes in the misnameing the seaverall
       Courses of the said land soe that the said Francis Anktill deceased had
       Little or noe land left of the said Five hundred Acres according to y.e
       bounds of the said pattent  Of wch Ralph Elston of Talbot County
       aforesaid takeing advantage and Knowing the said mistakes to be made
       in the entring upon record the said Originall Certificate Did by vertue
       of a comon warrant to him granted take up and had surveyed for him
       The said tract of land called Anktill or a greate part thereof and hath
       surreptitiously obtained the Lopps pattent und.r the great Seale of this
       Province for the same bearing date the Seaven and Twentieth day of
       June Anno Dom 1679 Calling it by the name of Byldon Contrary to all
       right noe comon Warrant or other warrant being able to affect the
       same It haveing been surveyed and pattented in the name of the sd Francis
       Anktill as aforesaid  To the great Damage of Francis Anktill the
       sonn and heire of the said Francis Anktill decd as to his Lopp and Councill
       hath beene sett forth  And Whereas his Lopp formerly granted unto the
       said Francis Anktill a Warrant of resurvey Directed to the said William
       Coursey comanding him to Layout the said Land according to the former
       survey thereof by him made and to make oath of such his survey
       that it should be according to the former survey by him made as
       aforesaid  All wch is by the said William Coursey done and performed
       as by a Certificate and Affidavit thereof und.r the hand of the said
       William Coursey duely sworne unto Doth and may appeare  Itt was
       therefore comanded the said sheriffe that by good and lawfull men
       of his Baliwick he make Knowne to the said Ralph Elston that he
       should be and appeare before the Justices of the high Court of
       Chancery att the Citty of St Maryes the six and twentyeth day of
       September anno Domini 1682 to shew cause (if any he had) why the said
       Pattent by him surreptitiously obtained as aforesaid should not be vacated
       & made voyd upon Record

       And the said Ralph Elston prayeth the hearing of the writ aforesaid & it is
       read unto him he also prayeth hearing of the returne thereof by the
       sheriffe of Talbott County aforesaid  And it is read unto him in there words
       viz Executed this writt the Seaventh day of August Anno 1682 Upon
