AN ACT concerning
Prevailing Wage - Contracts for Public Works -
Appointment of Chairman
FOR the purpose of providing for the appointment by the Governor
of a chairman of the Advisory Council on Prevailing Wage
Rates; and specifying the term and eligibility for
reappointment.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 21 - Procurement
Section 8-513(d)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 21 - Procurement
8-513.
(d) (1) Appointed members of the Council shall serve terms
of 3 years except as hereinafter provided and shall be eligible
for reappointment. Of the members first appointed, the two
selected from the general public shall serve terms of 2 years
each; one management member and one labor member shall serve a
term of 1 year each; and the other two shall serve a term of 3
years each.
(2) THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT A MEMBER OF THE
ADVISORY COUNCIL ON PREVAILING WAGE RATES AS CHAIRMAN WHO SHALL
SERVE IN THAT CAPACITY FOR 1 YEAR FROM DATE OF APPOINTMENT AND
QUALIFICATION AND MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REAPPOINTMENT AS
CHAIRMAN FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
