(f) If the Board denies the issuance of a certificate of
registration to any applicant or a certificate of authorization
to any corporation or partnership, the initial fee deposited
shall be retained as an application fee.
519.
(a) All certificates of registration and of endorsement
expire on January 31 of each odd-numbered year.
(b) A person who practices the fitting of hearing aids
shall biennially pay to the Board a fee of [$80] $220 $100 for a
renewal of his certificate of registration or certificate of
endorsement. A thirty-day grace period shall be allowed after
expiration of a certificate during which a certificate may be
renewed on payment of a fee of [$90] $230 $110 to the Board. The
Board may suspend the certificate of any person who fails to
renew his certificate before the expiration of the thirty-day
grace period. After the expiration of the grace period, the Board
may renew such a certificate upon the payment of [$100] $249 $120
to the Board. No person who applies for renewal, whose
certificate was suspended for failure to renew shall be required
to submit to any examination as a condition of renewal.
Article 75A - Public Accountancy
11.
(a) The Board shall on application enroll to engage in the
practice of public accounting in this State as principals or as
staff accountants, and issue certificates or cards evidencing
such enrollment to, all holders of certificates as Maryland
certified public accountants or registered public accountants and
to all partnerships and corporations of certified public
accountants or public accountants registered under §§ 6, 8 or 9
of this article. The Board shall charge a fee of [$25.00] $25
for each such first enrollment, to be paid at the time of
application therefor.
(b) All enrollment certificates shall expire on the last
day of December of each even-numbered year, and may be renewed by
certificate holders and registrants in good standing on
application accompanied by a renewal fee to be determined by the
Board, not to exceed [$50] $80.
(c) Failure of a certificate holder or registrant to apply
for the original or biennial renewal certificate shall deprive
him of the right to engage or continue in the practice of public
accounting unless and until he subsequently applies for and
obtains such certificate. Any person who fails to obtain an
enrollment certificate in violation of this subtitle may not be
issued a certificate for any subsequent year until the current
renewal fee, plus an amount equal to the total of the renewal
fees for the intervening years but not to exceed [$75.00] $120,
is paid to the Board.
