AN ACT concerning
State Roads Crews - Inmate Wages
FOR the purpose of allowing the Division of Correction to
contractually agree upon wages for State convicts working on
certain roads and bridges; providing that the Division of
Correction shall hold these payments to the credit of each
convict under certain laws and regulations; and correcting
an error.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
715.
The county roads board using State convicts as provided in §
713 of this article [are] IS hereby authorized and directed to
pay to the [Board] DIVISION of Correction [ten (10) cents] THE
AMOUNT CONTRACTUALLY AGREED UPON BETWEEN THE COUNTY ROADS BOARD
AND THE DIVISION OF CORRECTION per day for each and every day
that each and every State convict works upon the public roads or
bridges as provided herein[, and the Board of Correction is
hereby directed to hold such payments to the credit of each
convict and pay the same over to him on his release or in the
discretion of the Board of Correction, one half of the amount to
the credit of each convict may be paid to him, from time to time,
or the entire amount may be paid to the person to whom the
