(Senate Bill 472)
AN ACT concerning
Employee Access to Information Regarding
Hazardous and Toxic Substances - Study Commission
FOR the purpose of defining certain terms; requiring employers to
develop, obtain, and maintain certain information regarding
hazardous and toxic substances; requiring that this
information be maintained in a certain form; requiring
certain manufacturers and distributors to provide to
purchasers of hazardous or toxic substances certain
information; requiring that this information be transmitted
in a certain form; providing for exceptions; allowing
certain employees and employee representatives information
and access to certain information maintained by an employer
regarding hazardous and toxic substances; providing certain
rights to employees regarding the right to obtain
information or access to information from an employer;
requiring an employer to provide certain training and
education to employees; requiring an employer to provide
certain information to fire department officials regarding
hazardous or toxic substances; providing certain protection
and procedures when a trade secret claim is asserted;
providing for the enforcement of this subtitle; generally
relating to hazardous and toxic substances; and making
provisions of this Act severable.
FOR the purpose of establishing a commission to develop a report
and proposed legislation concerning necessary and
appropriate standards and requirements to be followed by
certain employers regarding access to information on, and
