BILL NO. 52-81
AN ACT to amend Chapter 2, title "Administration" of the
Montgomery County Code 1972, as amended, by amending Article 5,
title "County Board of Appeals", Section 2-108, title "Created;
composition; interview; appointment and term of members;
disclosure of interests", subsection (b)(3), for the purpose of
reinstituting the requirement that there be public disclosure of
certain testimony, which regulation was inadvertently eliminated
by previous legislation.
Effective Date March 1, 1982.

BILL NO. 57-81
AN EMERGENCY ACT to repeal in its entirety Chapter 17, title
"Electricity," of the Montgomery County Code 1972, as amended,
and to enact in its place a new Chapter 17, title "Electricity,"
to provide generally for requirements for the installation,
repair and maintenance of electrical installations and equipment
within the County; rule-making procedures for Executive rules and
regulations adopted pursuant to specific authority granted in
this Chapter; administrative and enforcement authority; unlawful
maintenance of installations; general standards applicable for
all electrical installations and equipment within the County;
penalties for violating provisions of this Chapter and its rules
and regulations; authority for emergency disconnections; the
Board of Electrical Examiners, its composition and related duties
and responsibilities; licensing procedures for electrical
contractors, master electricians, master electricians limited,
journeyman electricians; and registration of apprentice
electricians; requirements for obtaining permits to install or
repair electrical equipment and/or installations within the
County; procedures for inspecting permitted installations within
the County; general standards and requirements for fire alarm
systems within the County; specific authority delegated to the
County Executive to set forth detailed rules and regulations
pertaining to fire alarm systems and burglar alarm systems and
specific authority delegated to the County Executive to adopt,
subject to Council approval, detailed standards and requirements
for electrical installations based upon a designated edition of
the National Electrical Code.
Effective Date May 14, 1982.
