Resolution No. 136
RESOLUTION proposing to amend Section 207 "Legislative
Powers of Council" of Article II "The Legislative Branch" of the
Howard County Charter to delete reference to prosecution of
misdemeanors in relation to maximum penalties for violation of
the Charter, County ordinances, resolutions, rules and
regulations; and submitting this amendment to the qualified
voters of Howard County for their acceptance or rejection in
accordance with Section 1001 of the Howard County Charter.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY
Resolution No. 9-904
WHEREAS, Section 5 of Article XI-A of the Constitution of
Maryland, and Section 16-14 of the Montgomery County Code, 1972,
as amended, provide that amendments to the County Charter may be
proposed by a resolution of the County Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 23-1 of Article 33 of the 1957
Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Repl. Vol. and 1979 Cum. Supp.)
proposed charter amendments must be certified to the Board of
Supervisors of Elections on or before the third Monday in the
month of August in the year in which there is to be a general or
Congressional election at which such Charter amendments are to be
voted upon; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to submit to the Board of
Supervisors of Elections for inclusion on the 1980 general
election ballot, Charter amendments as set forth below; and
WHEREAS, Section 16-16 of the Montgomery County Code, 1972,
as amended, provides that there shall appear in print on the
voting machines ballot titles of all proposed charter amendments
which shall be prepared by the Council.
Sections 109, 306, 314, 401, 402, 403, and 404, of the
Charter of Montgomery County, amended.
Section 17 of the Schedule of Transitional Provisions,
added.
