CHARTER AMENDMENT
RESOLUTION NO. 8-82
WHEREAS, THE Mayor and Town Council have reviewed the Town
Charter and have determined that some changes are desirable,
[Sections 19-302, 19-304, 19-402, and 19-701 of the Code of
Public Laws of Calvert County, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

NORTH EAST
(Cecil County)
RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of
North East, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XIE of
the Constitution of Maryland and Section 19 of Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), 1973 Replacement
Volume, Title "Corporations - Municipal" to add a new section to
the Code of Cecil County, Maryland (adopted January 25, 1971)
under Chapter 28 of said Code which incorporates the Charter of
the Town of North East as adopted June 4, 1979, and constituting
an amendment to the municipal charter of the body politic and
corporate known as the Town of North East, and to annex and to
include the following described land in the boundaries of taxable
limits of the Town of North East.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of North
East are desirous of annexing the hereinafter described
contiguous and adjoining area into the corporate boundaries and
taxable limits of the Town of North East; and
WHEREAS, the said Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of
North East have obtained the consent for the proposed annexation
from more than twenty-five (25%) per cent of the persons who
reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered as voters
in County elections and have also obtained consent for the
proposal from the owners of more than twenty-five (25%) per cent
