HARRY HUGHES, Governor                                        2299 WHEREAS, The general revenue sharing program, enacted in
1972 and reauthorized by the United States Congress in 1976 and
1980, will expire on September 30, 1983; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
United States Congress is urged to again reauthorize the general
revenue sharing program at current funding levels or higher; and
be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
Maryland Congressional Delegation: Senators Charles McC. Mathias,
Jr. and Paul S. Sarbanes, Senate Office Building, Washington,
D.C. 20510; and Representatives Royden P. Dyson, Clarence D.
Long, Barbara A. Mikulski, Marjorie S. Holt, Steny H. Hoyer,
Beverly B. Byron, Parren J. Mitchell, and Michael D. Barnes,
House Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20515. Signed May 10, 1983. No. 25 (House Joint Resolution No. 43) A House Joint Resolution concerning Cecil County - "Volunteer Length of Service Award" FOR the purpose of urging the Cecil County Commissioners to
investigate the establishment of a "Volunteer Length of
Service Award" to honor the vital contributions made by
fire, rescue, and ambulance volunteers in Cecil County. WHEREAS, Cecil County's Fire, Rescue, and Ambulance
Volunteers have provided continuous, outstanding, and vital
service to the county's citizens; and WHEREAS, Cecil County's Fire, Rescue, and Ambulance
Volunteers are an integral part of the county's commitment to the
protection of the lives and property of the county's citizens; and WHEREAS, Cecil County's Fire, Rescue, and Ambulance
Volunteers have been instrumental in advising, promoting, and
maintaining emergency services for the county's citizens; and WHEREAS, Cecil. County's Fire, Rescue, and Ambulance
Volunteers have contributed significantly to the overall quality
of life in the county; and WHEREAS, Cecil County's Fire, Rescue, and Ambulance
Volunteers have contributed countless hours of time and effort to
foster better health care and public safety services; now,
