operating, and repairing fire apparatus and equipment; provided,
however, that no payments shall be made to any company which has
any regulations or resolutions limiting the territory within
which it will respond to calls.
(c) Each fire company receiving county funds shall provide
an accounting of the expenditures of such funds to the county
commissioners.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

Somerset County - County Roads Engineer
FOR the purpose of providing that the Somerset County Roads Board
may appoint a County Roads Engineer, rather than requiring
the Board to appoint an engineer.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 20 - Somerset County
78.
The County Roads Board [shall] MAY appoint a County Roads
Engineer. [The] A County Roads Engineer must have a degree in
Civil Engineering or must have had at least ten (10) years'
practical experience in constructing roads in a supervisory
capacity. He shall serve at the pleasure of and he may be
dismissed by the County Roads Board for proper cause. He is
subject to the authority of the County Roads Board and has charge
of making surface plats, profiles and specifications for the
grading, drainage, maintenance, repair and construction of the
